Strength & Honor History

[S/H]

HISTORY: [S/H] clan is now over 3 years old.  [S/H] was formed by its founder Harry Stamper around the fall/winter of 2000.  Harry Stamper was the owner and operator of the Counter-Strike server home of !-==GOTH==-!.  GOTH was an awesome home to many of the old @Home clients.  GOTH died in the spring of 2001.

Maximus, now retired clan leader, contacted Ixian of Maximumgamer who offered [S/H] a home in the summer of 2001.  We were a guest clan on Ixian servers with admin rights.  The first 5 admins were S/H members.  Two still retain their admin rights on the Maximumgamer servers.  [S/H] purchased our own server in the late winter of 2001 and placed our server in a co-location facility provide by Ixian with the Maximumgamer servers.

Ixian and ]SH[ parted ways when Ixian terminated his contract with the co-location facility in Denver.  ]SH[ pooled our resources again and upgrade the server to dual MP2000/1 GB DDR PC2100 ECC RAM.  We currently have placed our server in a co-location facility in Kansas City.

CLAN DESIGNATION: Strength and Honor original designation was [S/H].  When we moved to Global Operations, that software would not allow the slash "/".  The designation was changed to ]SH[, and has remain through Americas Army and Battlefield 1942.

NAME SAKE:  Our clan name originates from the movie "Gladiator", released in May 2000.  Toward the end of the movie Commodus, the Emperor, discovers the deceit of his sister, sends Roman soldiers are sent to kill Maximus.  Proximo, head of the gladiator school, sets Maximus free by providing the cells keys.  Maximus fellow slave gladiators, knowing he is the great General Maximus Meridius, rise to defend him.  Maximus requests that all he needs is moments to escape.  They chant "Strength & Honor",  and Maximus responds validating their kinship by reiterating their bond, "Strength & Honor".
